I began my studies of Spanish at West Fargo High School. During that time, I was able to partake in the school trip to Costa Rica for two weeks. After high school, I continued studying Spanish at NDSU where I obtained my degree in Spanish. I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Murcia, Spain for a semester. After university, I went to Chile for one school year as a volunteer English teacher. From there, I went to Taiwan for 12 years where I taught English to local students and was also able to pick up a bit of the Mandarin language.
