Samm Melbye grew up in the small town of Morris, Minnesota. After graduating high school, Samm attended North Dakota State University. At NDSU, she was an AVID tutor across WFPS. She graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Science Education and History, and a minor in Geography. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Teaching and Learning with a history specialization from Minnesota State University, Mankato and will graduate in May 2026.
This is Samm's second year at West Fargo High where is splitting her time between the English Language Learner department and teaching social studies in the Graduate Support Program. You will see Samm with her classroom cart around the building teaching EL World Geography I, EL U.S. History II, EL MTSS Study Hall, and Grad Support Social Studies.
In the summer of 2024, Samm married her husband, Beau and two weeks later moved to West Fargo. When not at school, Samm enjoys going to Minnesota Wild hockey games, Minnesota Twins baseball games, reading fantasy and sports romance books, going to music concerts and comedians, and spending time with Beau and their two cats, Fred and George.
