Garret Klein is originally from Surrey, North Dakota, where he grew up on a farm and attended a K-12 small-town high school. Upon completion of high school, Garret attended Minot State University where he received a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Management. While attending, he received the award for Marketing student of the year. Garret spent the first 10 years of his career working in marketing, sales, and physical labor jobs. His experience includes that of Gate City Bank, Pepsi, Coors Light, Job Corps, and Corwin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Garret decided to pursue teaching and began subbing in the Minot and West Fargo school districts. He spent his 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 years teaching business education and marketing in Surrey, North Dakota. Other duties included: Coaching football, Coaching weight training, co-advising DECA and FBLA programs, as well as co-advising junior prom and the 2025 senior class.

When the opportunity for a similar position became available in West Fargo, Garret was excited to return to the community and hopes to make a lasting impact. He will be teaching marketing education, advising the school store, and advising DECA.
